Hangout: USNA Induction Day / I-Day Class of 2028: Thursday 27 June 2024

100%. USNA doesn’t release appointee names to parent clubs. We have to hunt and peck for them. BGOs are a good resource but cannot provide us info, but can share our club with the appointees. Our AZ Welcome Aboard luncheon is in June in Scottsdale.
Calling all USNA and NAPS AZ peeps!!

Now back to regularly scheduled list of appointments!
We are in AZ.

In my personal opinion, IDAY will be the best and worst day out of the summer. On one hand, you're so confused and scared that everything sucks. You literally have no idea what is going on (Napsters and priors will have bypassed this,) and its such a harsh adjustment. On the other hand, its so cool to be given and wear the uniform that you've spent so long looking at. Honestly, I remember nothing after we walked into bancroft after the oath. Like literally have 0 idea what happened that night. After IDAY and that first week you'll get a good feel for the rhythm and it wont be bad at all. Just power through and dont quit

Oh, I remember to this day what happened after the swearing in and other mids got to meet with their families. There was no march-in back then, we were expected to be back on our deck and ready to go at a certain time. My parents were in CA, and I was just a prior with no family visiting (even though my brother and his wife were local), so I figured I would get a jump on getting back to our area.

Our company, Kilo, was on the back side of Bancroft. Dumbazz me decided to go in through the main entrance (not the big doors, I knew better than that) and make my way back to my deck. Oops ......... that started the gauntlet that took me nearly an hour to get back to my deck. I swear, I caught every upperclass in the p-ways from the first floor back to my deck. I was even late as a result of that!! And my arms were already fried. Yeah, that first night sucked hard ........ and I'd already been through Army basic training, living in a combat zone for 5 months, and NAPS.

Good times ...... :p

I don't think White Works was the uniform they were looking forward to (but always keep the dixie cups and the rest will come, and they do look good at graduation in dress Choker Whites, but Marine stands out). Sitting on Stribling after induction with a tired, sweaty and starving Plebe I asked how was it? Her answer "I have had coaches who were worse" so they will survive. She was lucky to have the same two fantastic roommates for all four years. Over the years since graduation they have celebrated their weddings and births of children. I am amazed at the bond they continue to have with all their roommates, classmates and all other graduates whatever year. It is a bond that cannot be described. I guess if you have survived the crucible only others who have done so can really relate.

Anyone noticed that the PTR stuff online has changed to class of 2028? I wonder if that means DS can start working on it.

Yes, looks like it’s updated! An email should follow soon, but things in the military don’t s as Keats happen sequentially. Kudos to the team that got it loaded early!

DS is looking forward to the PTR email. Last night he received the host family questionnaire and responded.

Now at USNA Plebe Summer Home, the Class of 2028 Permit To Report (PTR, reporting instructions). As you check this location, docs are being updated from 2027 to 2028. Parents, there is a guide for you. Google “USNA Plebe Summer Home” and explore all links and menus.

This link takes you straight to your PTR, 2028:

He can jump into the PTR now! The email will just be a link to what you saw on the USNA site😉 Start making piles, checklists, appointments, etc.

the accession screening form gave us an error. Can someone post me me?
this glitched for me as well a couple of times. Have you tried another browser or opening it in Adobe Acrobat?

...It kind of just worked one day.

I can log into ABS but I don't see any information requested of me or the required math assessment.

Still giving error message. Can you take a screenshot for me?

Oh yes… work is already in progress. Will be good to officially see the permit letter (just to make things official in his mind). All good !

My form initially just showed a loading screen that didn't update.
If you go on the portal and two-finger-click the blue linked line for the screening form, you can choose the option to 'download' or 'download as.'

What were you using for the username/password? I'm assuming the same as the regular portal because I have not been able to find any other specified instructions.
