Hopeful USMA Class of 2028 : a place to play the waiting game together.

It could be later today...or next week. But yes, someone might get a TWE this week and a BFE next week...it happens.

I just received my TWE...... it stings.......alot. I've wanted to go to West Point since I was 9:(:(.
But that's just life, no matter what happens, you have to move on. Who knows? Maybe ROTC would be better for me in the long run.

Thank you to SAF, you guys have been extraordinarily helpful for me and my family during this application process. Best wishes to all!

oh I am so sorry for news, I hope that you are looking forward to whatever path you end up choosing.

Just remember that roughly 1/3rd of the class in any given year don’t come straight from high school….you’ve already got a nice strong start on your reapplication getting this far for 2028…so lean in to the next year hard with grades and enjoy the rollercoaster for class of 2029 if WP is really your destiny!

You will succeed wherever you end up. ROTC is a fantastic option and so is re-application!

I contacted my regional commander about a new SAT score that I had after I got the QNS letter. My commander reaches out to me to let me know that with my new test scores there is a possibility I could get in, and to be patient. What should I make out of this? Should I be exited for WP or move on to plan B? I don't think I would be sent that email if nothing were to happen, right?
It depends how much higher the SAT scores went. If it's a significant jump over 700 in Math and English then you get more points awarded to your WCS. The final time DS took the SAT's, his score jumped 50 points and his state coordinator told him that put him significantly higher in his ranking.

I am so sorry. That is tough. USMA loves reapplicants who spent a year following the plebe year academic curriculum and doing ROTC...just saying.

Thank you but I'm not sure if there's a point in reapplying. I got the TWE because they denied my medical waiver.

I guess it was significant enough for the regional commander to give me hope

My DS is 3Q’d, 2 nom’s & NWL since 3/22. FFR told him he is lobbying for him to get civil prep sponsorship since SAT score wasn’t high enough. Does anyone know if the AOG sponsorships are the very last to be handed out? I was surprised to see some getting WPAOG sponsorships so early. Also, does anyone know how many are given for civil prep? I heard it was only about 30 total.

Got woken up by DS at 1am last night with the news he got accepted to USMA. No call from rep and not sure when it posted - he had portal fatigue from news last week. So completely excited for him - and for the rest of you waiting - don’t give up hope!

DS received AOG yesterday and letter said 40 are offered. Good luck to your DS.

We had a similar conversation with our FFR, which made us hopeful. With only 30-40 of these being offered, I'm getting nervous for my son!

Are there still any 3Q Candidates with an LOA or 3Q Candidates with a Principal Nomination without an Appointment?

My DS received this last year. He says it's the best thing that could have happened. He received his USMA appointment at the end of January this year. His year at MMI has made sure he is ready for the rigors of West Point. Congrats!
It's comments like this that almost makes me prefer this option for my son over a direct appointment. The window for both is quickly closing though! I'm trying to remain hopeful.
