Hopeful USMA Class of 2028 : a place to play the waiting game together.

According to who? Who knows how many appointments will drop on May 1st?

There will be a day of massive TWE's this week. So check your portal.
It is not over....7 years ago today my youngest received his BFE and portal update. It was a complete surprise...he had heard nothing on a packet that was completed and all green check marks since in mid-January.
He is a 1LT now.
So, we still don't know what will happen to everyone waiting...hang in there.
Also, there is no Plan B...just another AWESOME pathway.

Anyone still in the hunt? DS portal just had the Withdraw Application option disappear - likely just due to getting close to May 1st I’m guessing, but anyone also have this happen today?

I don't see mine either. The USNA portal had small changes like that before decisions were released. It could mean something here, but idk for sure.

where's the withdraw button, I don't think I ever seen it on the USMA portal only on the USNA one.

Where did the withdraw button used to be?

Also just received a Candidate File Qualified notice this morning (NWL notice). Seems late in the game to be getting that since his app was done in July last year…at this late stage of the game, grasping for any and all signs…portal took 4.3 secs to update instead of 3.6…a font size changed…had to log in twice today instead of once… LOL

I'd say it's a good sign!

On the main page in the list of options like Your Profile, Contact Admissions, etc
a previous post states that when the withdraw button is removed It means that a decision has been made an that a TWE is coming since an appointment would have a decline button not a withdraw. I am not hopeful for my DS as this point.

interesting I never noticed it there before and its not there now. :)
I found an old screenshot of how DS's used to look with the withdraw button. His is also gone now, but I have no idea when it disappeared.

Seems like cruel and unusual punishment to send the NWL letter today and then the TWE this/next week - but if that’s the reality, he’ll have a great year while gearing up for class of 2029 application. Good luck to all still on the treadmill and thanks for all the support - what a great forum.

It could be that there is no accept or decline until an offer arrives. Just trying to look on the bright side. Haha. My DS is already turned down, so any changes to his portal can only be a good sign.

I'm more of a hope for the best/expect the worst kind of person LOL. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised but my DS is holding out hope. :)

Interesting...I don't remember noticing the withdraw button previously, but it's not there for DS right now.

Has anybody else had discussions about civilian prep? FFR asked DS if he was interested in that option, but I don't know the likelihood of that actually being offered. I'll gladly take any insight anybody may have.

I have already accepted my USAFA appointment and turned down my 4-year NROTC-MO appointment, but I have really been surprised by the lack of communication from WP admissions. I was 3Qd and placed on the NWL with a primary MOC and Pres nom on 25 JAN and have heard or seen literally nothing since then.

It would be a fantastic opportunity and a golden ticket. My DS has accepted a Falcon Foundation Prep for USAFA. They can accept that offer and decline it later if they are appointed to an academy this cycle.

on a separate note... just occurred to me that I might want to change the pfp from navy to AF...
