I hate to be cliche by asking how am I looking for admissions, but any input would be appreciated

Academics:
8th out of 258
1870 SAT

Sports(which are light):
Swimming 2 years, with letters
Orienteering 2 years

Extracurriculars:
President: Young Republicans
Member of Rockingham County Republicans executive board
Color Guard Commander
Flight Commander
Class VP
Academic Challenge Team Captain
Member of:
NHS
Beta Club
Grange(4H)
JROTC

National Awards
Presidential Volunteer Service Award
Sojourner's Award for excellence in JROTC

Several local awards.

Work Experience:
Worked all 4 years of HS on my family's farm for 30-40 hours a week, full time during school breaks. I hope this will counter the lack of sports. My field force said he thinks it will help both in the selection and my time at West Point if I am admitted.

I've got everything in for my application except for my CFA and candidate states(which are almost finished)

Your class standing is much better than your SAT score. Indicates that you had a bad day on the SAT or you go to an easy HS.
Sports are weak. The strong candidates letter in 2-3 sports and are captains of at least one team.
Recommend: Take a SAT course and take the test again-try out for 1-2 more sports (football, baseball, wrestling)

I picked up on the SAT score versus class rank the same as BigNick, so I would agree with his advice. However, it seems like you are done with high school, based on your last section talking about "all 4 years of high school".

Overall, I think you look good.
