How do Candidates get invited/visit for a CVW?

My son was Board Qualified in Jan. w/ 2 noms and Qualified Dodmerb - how does one get a candidate visit weekend? No letter or correspondence has come from USNA since the Board Qualified letter.
 
CVWs are typically offered to well qualified candidates. That said, many well qualified candidates don't get them simply due to space limitations.

It can't hurt to ask your RD and BGO for one, but that's no guarantee. As a general rule (there are many exceptions), CVWs are less likely if you attended NASS. But there are some who do both.
