How do the required athletics work?

So I know at WP you either have to do d1 or some type of club sport or intramural. But what does this look like, specifically for someone that won’t be doing d1 sports?

Here's a small list of company athletic sports, I may have forgotten a few:

flag football
ultimate frisbee
grappling
orienteering
functional fitness
foundations of fitness
volleyball
flickerball
handball
basketball
hockey

Depends on the semester.

Both semesters, you'll probably have to play up 2-3 times a week, an hour to an hour and a half, in the middle of the semester. It doesn't start at the beginning of the semester and it finishes well before the end of the semester, depending on how your team does. If your team does well, you have to compete more, it's kind of tournament-style. If your team does more poorly, you're done sooner. Most people don't take company athletics too seriously because while you are graded on it, it's not a big part of your physical grade and it's basically just another thing you're required to do that takes away from your free time. Sometimes you'll also have an hour and a halfish of drill, maybe twice a week, but usually first semester and not so much second semester.

Adding to hchen5041's list:
Sandhurst, Rock Climbing, Alpine Ski Team, Weightlifting, Drill Team, Company Sports...I even think they had bowling. If it requires athletics, they probably have it as an option. I think Glee Club also fulfilled the "sport" requirement. In addition, there are some D1 sports that also have club teams that are not D1, such as Soccer.

Son did Alpine Ski 1 year and then switched over to his company Sandhurst team. He led the team 1 year which was great experience for him…he thought Sandhurst was one of his best experiences there.

If you can swing a club sport with drill authos, you get the best of both worlds. Train in a sport you enjoy while not having to do drill.
