I have a question regarding how to apply for Airborne school this summer. My cadre are being a little lazy I think about it, but I'm also a contracted MSI. I have a good PT score and want to do something this summer any advice and when would these deadlines be?

As an MSI about the only thing you would qualify for is CULP, and the deadline for that was back in Oct. or Nov. and those slots have already been awarded (there is a thred on here about that). There might also be Project GO, but not sure of deadline on that.

As far as Airborne or Air Assault, schools are awarded x-number of slots. Typically they start with MS-III's and go down their internal Order of Merit List.

Slots for most training schools go to MS-III's unless you are an outstanding MS-II.
MS-I's are pretty limited on summer programs.

Cadre might be a little lazy but your a little late in the game to be thinking of this now.

In my son's unit for the past three years.

MS1 CULP

MS2 Airborne/Air Assault

I'm sure this isn't written in stone, but maybe the way this unit works.

specialty school

CULP deadline is past. You may want to consider Project GO, many deadlines don't expire till March, but at this date you may only be considered for a domestic program. I think the way most battalions work is share your desire with cadre about a specialty school then as spots come in they get awarded based on battalion OML. Once you tell cadre you'd like to be considered, it's out of your hands.

What I would suggest you do is ask your lazy cadre how school slots are awarded. They may be able to explain why they haven't given you the slot to airborne school you obviously deserve. They only get so many slots, so it may be a matter of not sending freshmen. You won't know till you ask.
