I-Day - Walking on to the Yard

Yet another newbie question.

We (mom, dad and incoming plebe son) will be walking on to the Yard for I-Day. In that he needs to report to Alumni Hall, are we better off walking in at Gate 1 or Gate 3, or doesn't it make a difference?

Things do change from year to year but last year we walked in Gate 3 with our son. We stayed at the Loews Hotel and it was the closest gate. Just check the web site to insure that things have not changed. :thumb: Good Luck
 
Probably Gate 3 is closest. It's still a decent walk. Not a problem if you have no mobility issues, but Alumni Hall is probably 1/4 from Gate 3, which is probably 1/2 miles from Loews. Wear comfortable shoes -- no one is conducting inspection (of the parents, that is :yllol:). The Yard has quite a few cobblestone areas so heels (for the women) are not a good idea.
