Attn: OBJEE!
Hi, hey, I figured out your screen name: the bear at USCGA! Wow, that took me a while! ( I saw his picture on the virtual tour in the website ).
Anyway, I see one of my fellow forum members said he or she just got a letter indicating the file has been sent to the candidate review board, one step closer, etc. Are these notifications going out to everyone who gets reviewed? My son got one of these letters back in Nov. for Early Action, and then was deferred. Just wondering if the review under regular decision will also prompt one of these letters...giving him a hint of when his file might be looked at again? I know, we are clutching at straws...trying to read hints of progress into everything we read :)
I hope things are calming down for you guys and that you are getting some rest between bouts of mail opening, sorting, filing, computer updates...I am tired just thinking about it!

Applicants who were deferred from Early Action for reevaluation in Regular Admission will not receive another "your record has been forwarded to the CCEB" letter. I can tell you that all these reviews are conducted in March, so they shouldn't expect to hear anything (no one should really) until early April.

Therefore, if one's admission status date changed to 3 Feb 2009 on the Dodmerg site, it doesn't mean their file was reevaluated because the reviews are not reviewed until March? What could the new date be on Dodmerg, some type of update or ????

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what triggers the various status changes on the DoDMERB website, but I'm sure we're not reevaluating any EA deferrals until next month.

Ok. I was thinking, or hoping, the dates may be related to receiving updated grades and transcripts.

Not evaluating EA defferals until next month? ugh... I guess we all can relax then. ((who here said they were doing us first??? didn't someone say that??))
Is there any particular reason why did the CGA changed the RA cutoff date to 1 February this year, (I believe previous years it was 1 March).

it says .... Waiver Denied - USCGA

ughhhhh I havent heard from anyone yet.... But its late in the day..
I'll be up early on the Pacific Coast calling CGA trying to figure out what's up.

Objee, has the admissions office started to review any regular admissions applicants yet? I received a letter on January 6, 2009 that stated that I would be going up for review. Are they only beginning the review process next month?

Thank you in advance.

JCollins - did ur daughter already have a connditional appointment?

No she did not, she was deferred from EA. She did received the CGA Scholars booklet the same day her deferral letter came in... She was very excited about the CGA Scholars..

Does this also apply to the CGA Scholars selection, or does that board operate independently of the CCEB? I am still very curious, as I'm sure Maui1 is, about my recent change in DoDMERB status...
