Ok, I'm confused. I tried calling the information phone number in the section for the Deposits before Admission,(treasurer) but no one seems to answer or call back? I know they are probably busy. Anyway, when the "WP Instructions offered for Candidate Admission - Class of 2013" was first posted on the portal, it said the deposit was $2,900. now when I just went on to recheck on things, it says the deposit is $2,000. Not that I am complaining, but I just want to make sure this is not a misprint or anything? Does anyone know for sure??

Based on what was in the 2013 West Point Instructions for Candidates Offered Admission, we submitted $2000. The check was cashed and have not heard anything further (at least so far as our son has let us know).

My son hasn't received his official 2010 USMAPS instruction booklet yet, but was directed to go on line and look at the one posted as it's very similar to the new one being sent out, in there I found this:

"All other incoming Cadet Candidates, including Soldiers
coming from the National Guard or Reserves, receive
Cadet Candidate pay, which is approximately $864 per
month before taxes. National Guard and Reservists will be
transferred to a different pay system for which a new Standard
Form 1199A (Direct Deposit Form) must be submitted.
From this pay, we require all Cadet Candidates to establish
an allotment payable to the USMA Treasurer in the
amount of $350 per month for the initial deposit required
for the USMA Class of 2011.

USMAPS is 10 months long so that would be $3,500 for entering class expenses.

Ok, I will answer my own question... yesterday I also stated the same question on the prospective-net email... and the West Point Parents Club Coordinator/Directorate of Communications answered herself and said - I quote "...INITIAL DEPOSIT has been reduced to $2000.
It is not a misprint." So YEAH !!:yay:
