I don't post too often on this forum because the advice is usually sound. However, at this time of year I like to say one thing:
When you are promoted to candidate status download and read the Instructions to Candidates from cover to cover!
Just about every question you can think of is here. This is a complicated process and pieces and parts change from year to year. The Admissions Office wants you to understand what to do to make yourself as competitive as possible and ease the process.
