Insurance problems

Help----we have been checking into health insurance policies for our son ---whats the deal with group insurances not accepting SA students? My husband and i have just gotten new jobs and to cover him is expensive---and mine won't even let me add him---wow--- help!
 
You do understand that as active duty military your son is fully covered as of I-day, don't you?
 
We canceled our sons health insurance after I-Day since as said above they are covered.
 
At CVW, the Lt giving the "talk" at the beginning said that if it makes sense (makes sense means financially, in most cases) for the family to be able to insure the Mid, do so because if, for some reason the Mid doesn't continue at USNA (or any SA), getting insurance if it had been cancelled could be difficult. This doesn't mean that insurance can't be obtained some other way....this is just what was said at the CVW a couple of weeks ago.
