Any idea if the Academy permits internet VoIP type phones, like Vonage?
I can with almost complete certainty say that they will not allow, because they won't let you plug anything into the government network.
Would do no good anyway - this generation does not use phones to actually talk on.
Thanks for the replies. With poor cell phone reception, for some reason, inside the rooms, I was hoping for a cheap alternative.
Not sure what reception you are referring to. My son has Verizon and has no problem in Sijan tower. He had a Tracfone before upgrading. That worked fine as well.
DS has an iPhone 4S with AT&T and has no reception problems in Sijan.
I have to agree here. Son had AT&T all four years in both Vandy and Sijan and never had reception problems anywhere. Only $10/mo as an addition to our plan. I don't know how you could get cheaper than that.
Unless things have changed, I have always gotten very poor reception in Sijan with Verizon. Fine reception with LTE here in Vandy though.
