January 4, 2011 AROTC Board

Thank you for that. That's the type of answer I was looking for. Looks like I should probably stick with ROTC for tuition but I'll ask the school if I can move my money to Room and Board. Thanks!

And it's Fordham, unless I get into West Point:biggrin:

Has anyone recieved a scholarship offer from the Jan. 4th board? I haven't heard anything, and I'm getting very nervous :frown:

Have your checked your online status recently? If it hasn't changed, you are probably going to need to hang out with us until the March board results are released in a month or so-check your status and if no change, call a ROO you communicate with and ask them to double check for you. Hope you have good news, but if not, you'll have lots of company while you wait:smile: The January boards results have all posted.

Thank you very much! I am not too sure as to which ROO I can communicate with, is there anywhere I can go to find his/her number?

Have you checked the Scholarship Status Page, if so, has it changed from "You have been selected for an Interview" to "You may check your Dodmerb Status"

If you can't get to the status page have you called the ROO's at the schools you listed to see if you have received an offer.

The status pages started changing last week, from what a ROO who posts here has said the offers for the Jan. 4th board have been completed.

If your status page has not changed then you have been rolled over to next board Mar. 8th

Call your ROO's to make sure.

I will certainly check with them. Do you know the dates of the next board? I heard they were in April, but I've also heard they were in March?

Check the ROTC website of each school you listed, the ROO will be listed as either Recruiting Operations Officer or Enrollment Officer. It would be wise from this point on to be in contact with them before the next board, you may want to develope a relationship with then in case you need to compete for a campus based scholarship should you not receive the national offer.

Not to sound short with you...but...you need to read the entire reply. I believe I said the next board is Mar. 8th.

My apologies, I refreshed the page and immediately sent the reply. Sorry about that!

Conflicting information....the status on my DS has not changed. (still says to schedule an interview). He is DodMerb qualified(has letter). He also received a phone message from the ROO at his # 1 school telling him to expect a letter regarding his Scholarship. I am not sure what to think after reading many of the posts on this site. Does anyone know how long it will take for the second round letters to arrive?

The letters from the first board came about 5 days after the status changed.

Now that is a new one, the ROO called you and said a letter was coming but the status has not changed. If the letter is one informing you that your son received an offer without the status page changing, that would be a new one. This year has been so different compared to others that it would not be a surprise. If this ends up being the case there may be some here who did not see a status change but may still get good news.

I would call the ROO back and see if the letter is indeed an offer, I'm not sure I could stand the wait.

Good luck, I hope it's good news for your son.

He has call the ROO and received a message back that really didn't clarify the first call.

He also got an e-mail form his second choice saying they were awarded no scholarships for the second round.

That has not been unusual for this year, some schools don't get offers every board.

From the news thats been shared by the ROO's that post here it looks like a lot of applicants are only getting an offer for one of the schools they listed this board. If the letter that is comming is indeed an offer that will be it, you will not be seen by the next board.

Wouldn't it be nice sometimes just to be able to get a straight answer.

If you do not receive a letter in the next couple days I would call the ROO and ask the specific question "Did I Get an Offer From Your School" the answer should not be that hard to give, one would think.

Just sent an e-mail. Thanks!

Rochester Institute of Technology doesn't seem to list an ROO. Who should I contact instead?
