January Appointment Wave vs. February Appointment Wave

Generally, how big is the wave from January versus the wave from February? Also, I just received my nom 2 days ago, does this mean I'll have to wait until the March wave to hear back? It's my understanding that the Admissions board doesn't even consider a candidate profile until it gets a nomination.
 
Your file is getting looked at as its being built. That's how you get folks who are tagged early in the process with LOAs and LOEs. There isn't any way to tell how big each wave of offers will be. It'll depend from year to year, and as people start to make decisions yes/no that may open up slots again in later waves. I know it sucks that you're in the waiting game right now. Congrats on the nomination! That's a huge step, but don't forget to have a good time senior year. Its a time you won't get back and life starts changing extremely quickly after graduation regardless of where you go.
 
There is only one big initial wave. Accept that now.
The rest of the time there will be appointments coming out weekly from 1 February until 1 May.
 
As they come out weekly, are those with principal noms typically first then others? Just curious as I had heard and figured if so, it’d be a while for those of us without principal noms.
 
From what I've been reading its usually LOA and other candidates at random. From there it's a waiting game.
 
Now that the Dems are finished maybe we'll see some movement since MOCs and Senators are going back to their constituents to wrap up communication between their offices and WP Admissions :director:

I believe the MOCs and Senators are given 1st choice to notify the first wave???

I spoke with a person (in the know) at USMA the wave is ready to go and the boxes of 400-500 are waiting but the Army is holding them up! Something about the Army rolling our some new regulations, etc. New regs have nothing to do with appointments. Sec. of Army has the ultimate decision on the timing. But BFE's are in a room, addressed and ready to go. Stay tuned. Let's hope @USMA85 is on point.
 
If 500 went out last week and another 500 go out this week and class of 2024 is capped at 1240 per another chain, how many total go out between now and April given some rate of non-acceptance?

All things are possible. We are all just speculating at this point. It will happen, when it happens.
 
Why is Army so far behind USNA and USAFA in appointments at this point? USAFA has 58 posted and USNA 65!!! I'm not sure how to estimate how many total appointments have been offered based on SAF postings. Is there an accepted multiplication factor to estimate?
