Hi all,

I had a lazy eye as a child and had corrective surgeries, so now my eyes are almost perfectly aligned and cause no issues. Also, my eyes are correctable to 20/20 and my prescription is not strong (less than the max of +/- 8). However, my eyes are not able to see 3D (such as 3D images or movies made to look like they pop out, not three dimensional objects in real life). It does not affect me at all. Will there be any issues with my past lazy eye or other eye conditions?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Be sure to check the medical codes for all your conditions. Now, just from reading your post, the corrective surgeries are probably (i.e. very probable) going to be an issue. I'm no expert in the DoDMERB codes but I think any form of eye surgery is an issue. I'm not sure about the lazy eye but I think it's listed as one of the codes. BTW, no matter what people might tell you on this site always reference literature (ex. the codes).

I have tried to do a lot of research and it says only severe lazy eyes (over certain amount of diopters, which mine are not) are an issue. I haven't had surgery since I was about 9 and haven't read anything about a disqualification for eye surgery, so I'm praying that it won't be an issue.
