Letter of Assurance (LOA) received

My DD just finished her entire application. She has presidential, service-dependent, and MOC nominations. The RC said her application was "very competitive". Should she expect to receive a LOA soon? Or are those pretty rare? If she doesn't get one, could she still be offered an appointment? I assume the LOA says pending DoDMERBS qualification.

The majority of Service Academy appointees do not receive a Letter of Assurance (LOA). An LOA is not required for an appointment.

If your daughter is scholastically, physically (DODMERB) and athletically (CFA) qualified, she is fully qualified, and with noms, can be considered for an offer for appointment.

I believe I have read there may be circumstances where USAFA offers a conditional appointment.

Most candidates, once fully qualified, with a nom, simply...wait.

Thank you! She is relieved to have her application complete, and has her DoDMERBS physical this week with no known physical disqualifiers (no physical issues at all). So.....a waiting game it is. She was lucky to have already been awarded a 4-Year ROTC scholarship. Her heart is set on attending USMA, but what a great position to be in.
