Letter of Recommendation Sample

I believe it is generally accepted that you don't read a letter of recommendation which is one reason you should think hard about who you will ask for them. Or are you asking because you need to write one? I would just google letters of recommendation and look through the top hits if that is the case.
 
I am not going to read the letter I just need a sample for those writing it. They want and I want them to have a sample so they can write the best possible letter.
 
A sample for writing a rec? There is no given format for a letter of rec...your teacher basically writes whatever they want about you however they want to. Just remember to ask a teacher who knows you well and ask him/her nicely :smile:
 
.....and write a thank-you note to let them know how much you appreciate it. Most folks who have written things for my kids have put a lot of time and effort into doing the best job they could. We also enclosed a Starbucks gift card in the thank-you notes.

ETA: Ask well in advance! Too many kids wait until the last week or deadline and it's not fair to teachers to have to scramble and race to accomodate you. Many teachers will just turn you down. So give them plenty of time to do it---they do have lives outside of school!

They also like to see a list of accomplishments to refresh their memory about what a great kid you are!
