After reading some old threads about LORs, I have come to the obvious conclusion that an LOR should encompass how great you are and specifics that make you stand out. However, I have not had opportunities like that to stand out, and even when I did, I have lost contact with those people.

So my question is this, can anyone recommend a way to get a great, indepth, and very deep LOR?

You need to find out first what types of recommendations are requested. On the USMA application itself, it must be a Math, a Science and an English teacher so you have a short list to work with.

For the Rep for our district, the letters ask the recommenders to speak specifically about the candidates potential in a rigorous academic environment and to comment specifically on the candidates potential to excel in Calculus and Physics. An even shorter list.

For one senator, the request isn't for an actual letter but short answers to very specific questions.

I know I am not answering your question directly but you need to find out what your specific MOCs are looking for and then choose the people who can best meet that need.
