Anybody else get an LOA in the mail? Curious as to how many have gone out, because I see that some people have received LOEs. The letter says I have a reserved cadetship as long as I receive a nomination and send in my CFA, teacher evaluations, and candidate statements within the next couple of months.

What are your academic stats like? if someone has never received an LOA does that mean that they don't get in? I am a second time applicant

Most appointees do NOT receive an LOA. Don't worry about it.

Got mine in May; I was accepted into the class of 2017 until I sent DODMERB info on my ACL surgery. Be sure to hit those deadlines early, as they have a way of sneaking up on you.

Thanks for the advice. I plan on submitting the CFA well ahead of the deadline. Are you a plebe now, or did you get DQ'd because of your ACL?

I was DQ'd and am now doing a stint in a civilian college. Taking the CFA ahead of time is a very good idea since you can always take it again later. Also, when writing your statements, remember that you are no longer really competing for a spot; don't sweat it too much. It is better to just get it done.

I'm much the same as EPH13. I was accepted for the Class of 2017 but tore my meniscus a couple of weeks before R-Day. I got my LOA in the same envelope as my disqualification letter, reserving my cadetship for next year as long as I turned the required things in on time. (All of which I have done except for the CFA, as I'm still not medically cleared.)

Retaking CFA requires your RC permission. If you take it early enough and fail more than likely your RC will allow you to retake it.

I disagree. Do your very best to make every aspect of your application stand out. An LOA is not guaranteed acceptance. Remember that. Good things happen for those that deserve them. Take your time and write something that the board will love.
