LOE Question

Hello,
I was wondering what exactly an LOE says.
I received a letter a few days back and I've asked my friend (now a plebe at USMA) what it is, according to him it's an LOE. However it doesn't say anything about encouragement, just commends me for finishing my application, says that my file has been qualified, and tells me to keep updating admissions with any new achievements. So is this an LOE? If not, what is it?

An LOE specifically authorizes an overnight visit. If your letter doesn't mention that it is likely a 3Q letter.
 
3Q Letter! I got mine after my LOE actually. Basically it just says that you are in the running for an appointment.
 
Congrats you're qualified academically, physically and Dodmerb! Now you'll be placed on the NWL and depending on your WCS on that list.
