March Army ROTC Board

Thank you for the information. I called one of the schools of his choice and he did receive one of his school choices. What a relief! Now we have to see if we can get a transfer to the school he would most like to attend. Any information from anyone on transfering a scholarship would be helpful.

I just sent you a PM.

Status still hasnt changed :/

Is this bad?

Not bad, just not good, remeber this is not the end!!

There are still some who are making decisions that have ROTC scholarships and have been accepted to Academies and Prep Schools so there is still hope and I believe there is still at least one more board. Keep your chin up!!

Yea I know but the thing is, the ROTC Scholarship director my school of choice said that I was a highly competitive candidate so it just seems odd that I would keep getting pushed back.

Yes - we were told that the application was strong. Also said he would not be surprised if a scholarship was awarded in the final board.

And here I was ready to stop stalking and give up until the 31st! Glad to hear some of you are getting updates. Congratulations :thumb:

For those who have not seen an update today, DO NOT get upset and think that you didn't get awarded one.

We went through this for the January boards. Some started reporting on Friday that their status changed. My son's didn't so we thought he got passed over. Late Saturday morning his status changed! Then there were reports that people's changed on Monday and Tuesday.
The PMS from my son's school said that it took CC days to upload everything into the system. That included the schools system. It took until that Wednesday before he could see everyone that was awarded one to his school.

Good luck!

Excerpt of Letter from the Cadre at a school on DS list:

The fourth round of scholarship selections is being wrapped up at Cadet Command. If selected for a scholarship, you should receive a letter from Cadet Command very shortly containing your official offer. If you don't get a letter in the next two weeks, it means your application will be looked at in the next selection round, in April.

The offer letter you may get will give you the choice of up to three schools to use your scholarship at -- I'm hoping you'll pick the University of Oklahoma! This year we had 35 new freshmen enter ROTC, bringing out battalion size to 119 cadets. Based on the academic, athletic, and other qualifications of yourself and the other scholarship applicants, I'm confident that next year's freshman class will be at least as strong.

In short do not despair the waiting is agonizing but so is making the right choice in the end....

My status just changed to the check my medical status at the DoDMERB site...does this mean I received a scholarship? If so, this day can't get any better (I was just accepted at my first choice school). Hopefully I find out. If so, I am beyond ecstatic.

Just this minute? So I should keep checking mine every 15 minutes?

And Congratulations!!!

I'm not sure. I just logged on a couple of minutes ago, first time I checked today. Thank you! Best of luck to you!

Got a call from the ROO at my top choice and was told that the scholarship is a campus based 4-year. :shake:

That is so true. My son was awarded a scholarship from the January boards and it took a few days for his status to change. We thought he would have to wait until March. We checked it one more time (just because we were gluttens for punishment) and low and behold...his status changed. So, keep your heads up, it could take a few days to get everyone in the system. Good luck!

Congratulations! Thanks for the clarification-
perhaps these recent awards are all campus based and not based on March results?

Not that it matters to the awardees-just the ones who are still waiting.

Congrats to everyone who got a scholarship!

To the others: Goodluck and don't give up hope yet!

I just checked the system this morning and the DoDMERB message showed up. Does anyone know when the system will show a list of schools?
