Marine Corps names new Assistant Commandant

Lieutenant General Glenn Walters has been nominated for promotion to the rank of General and assignment as the 34th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, he is currently serving as Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources. Walters is a 1979 graduate of The Citadel and is a career aviator who commanded the first Marine V-22 squadron and recently served as Commanding General of the 2d Marine Air Wing. He will replace General John Paxton who is retiring after a 42 year career.
