Doubly tragic since another rollover incident in 2019 killed a young officer I knew; his parents have lobbied congress for reforms and a new pilot safety program was started but it obviously hasn't been effective.

I hate these stories. Rollovers happen too often. One of my son's MRAPs rolled over on a washed out road when he was a company commander at Camp Pendleton. He drove out to the site and knowing his career would be over, had the intention of ripping off the heads of the driver and A-driver if they had not already been decapitated. As it turned out, they had done everything right, were strapped in, and all gear in the cabin was secured. They weren't hurt and he didn't hurt them so they all got off unscathed. The MRAP was an MRAP so it lived to fight another day.

RIP to the Marine and condolences to the family. I can't imagine...
