you are not admitted based on what you would like to do, navy or marines. you will have the ability to rank you preferences during your 1C year and your assignment will depend on the needs of the navy and your rank in your class.

Irrelevant. You'll chose whether to be marines or Navy well into Academy time.

I don't mean to insult you, but that is simply a stupid question.

    A. They both have distinctive yet equally important roles.
    B. There is no one measuring the amount of "action".

Stay home. If this is what you care about, neither community will even look at you to be one of their O's.

What you really want is to enlist in the Navy with a SEAL contract. Drop out of BUD/s and then go scrape paint. Your head is not in the right place.

no i know this this is what some bonehead at my school belives. He thinks he knows the process. I am applying to the Academy to becom a leader for the best country in the world not to be some elite soldier. My goal is to be a leader and attend a great university. Sorry for making the questions vague and giving background. I am not the type of guy to ask these questions

Its even worse to ask a question then when you get an unexpected answer, tell everyone some bonehead at your school asked it and not you. Dont be shy to ask questions about the USNA process. Asking if it was easier to get in if you want to be a Marine was a legit question, just not the SEAL/recon one because its also irrelevant to the thread topic and forum.
