I have been disqualified by DoDmerb for having Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) in my jaw. This has never been a problem for me and it is healed. I am surprised that it even came up to DoDmerb. Is this minor condition easily awarded a waiver?

I would call the DoDMERB helpdesk. They're actually really nice, and pretty straightforward with what you need to do. You'll mostly get anecdotal evidence from people who aren't doctors from an internet forum such as this.

    It's up to USNA

USNA medical will be the governing body that deals with medical waivers. This process is initiated by USNA for those candidates they want to offer an appointment to. I would call them if you want to know if your medical condition is waiverable. Good luck.

Should be a minor issue that might require a letter from your Pediatrician and/or DDS.

We had three issues, all letters from treating HCPs that resolved waivers quickly.
