I received word that I got medically disqualified for admissions due to deep, though correctable myopia, but that they're considering a waiver for me. Would a LoA have any bearing on their decision?

I doubt your record will have an impact on medical decisions since the focus then is not how good you are but if it is safe to let you join.

Send an email to Mr. Mullen at Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. He works at DoDMERB and will be glad to help. Just send him your full name and last four digits of your social security number along with your questions.

Are you saying you have an LOA and wonder if that will help push a med waiver through or are you asking if a Med DQ will reduce the chances of an LOA?

Moved to the DODMERB forum.

I highly recommend following America's Finest's advice to contact Mr. Mullen regarding your situation.

Pls send me your original posting; your full names and last 4 SSN; to Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil. I can assist U better from there and answer all your questions. I should be able to answer by midnight Sunday night :thumb:
