How many opportunities for MIAD does a cadet have during his time at the academy?

During the summers (with the exception of your first summer) you will have the opportunity to participate in MIAD. From the USMA Admissions page:

"Cadets also participate in Military Individual Advanced Development training courses in such programs as Air Assault, Airborne, Mountain Warfare, Northern Warfare, Special Reaction Team Course, Sapper Leader, and Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training courses. There may be duty at the National Training Center, the Joint Readiness Training Center, or Combat Maneuver Training Center. Attending these schools helps motivate and build your confidence while learning usable military skills and developing individual leader proficiency."

FYI - The answers to some of these FAQs need to be revised since things have changed a bit. For example, during the second summer field training at Buckner is not 8 weeks long. Instead part of the field training was moved to the summer before Firstie year.

I appreciate your response, however, it has not answered my question. I know when one would do an AID(M), what i wanted to know is how many opportunities one may have to do so. Can you take one school? two? three or more?

Thats what i wanted to know.

Thanks again for your response

I think you can take as many as you can:
A) get accepted to
and
B) fit into your summer schedule with all the other cadet requirements

Cadets have to apply for these training opportunities and space is limited. Most attend airborne and/or air assualt since the others are harder to get into.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the expansion on your previous post ma'am, i really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question to the best of your ability. This may be the best answer i've gotten yet and i really appreciate that.

Honestly all those schools are open to Cadets who want to go and qualify to go. Whether or not YOU can go will depend on a number of factors.
In late winter or early spring you will submit your request to your TAC. They will then decide what schools you can go to and you will get your summer assignment.
Summer after plebe year you will go to Buckner. You will then have one other block to schedule a MAID if you wish.
For many schools you need to qualify physically - do a special physical fitness test - before they let you go.
