Has any one from Michigan heard about nominations or appointment information? DD portal has not budged. Waiting is not fun.

Congressional rep nominations to USMA, USNA and USAFA have been posted to son's portal for several weeks. Senator stabenows nom to west point still not posted to portal. Still waiting to here on sen Peters.

My DS received his Noms from MOC and Stabenow, but still nothing changed in the Portal. Stabenow published her list today, so hopefully something will show up soon. Good luck!!!

We didn't know about Stabenow publishing the list. Just looked at it. That's a nice touch. It's cool seeing your kid on a list like that.

It looks like she did not give anyone more than one nomination. That kind of surprised me.

    Thanks for the info.

this really shouldn't be a surprise when you consider the senators receive a few hundred apps for so few spots. They want to spread the wealth among their constituents. States like Wyoming, ND,SD may be able to give out multiple noms.

It was also interesting that Stabenow must have two open spots for USMA, and two open spots for USNA. She nominated twenty candidates for both schools, and ten for USAFA.

Approximately half of those who received nominations were women; not a suprise with Stabenow.

I wonder how much coordination there will be between Stabenow and Peters offices. My son now has two nominations for USMA, and one each for USAFA and USNA. He is hoping for a second nomination for either USAFA or USNA, or both, from Peters, rather than a third from USMA. Not sure if he should call Peters office and express that to them. My guess is that Peters will, like Stabenow, award only one per candidate.

What is his preference? He has more opportunities to win a slate which is great. Even if he isnt a slate winner it sounds like he will be pretty high on the NWL and stands a good chance for any of the three.

He struggles with that question. Really likes each Academy, and each service for different reasons. He has said a few time that he would be fine only being offered an appointment to one so he doesn't have to choose. Actually though, he wants the opportunity to make the decision. Just don't know what that may be at this point.

    Thanks for the nice comments.
