Mid term Grades In the Mail Today

Enjoy it while it lasts. I understand from the drop off information to parents session this is the only time Parents get grades from KP. after midterms you must wrangle them out of your plebe/mid. Still so PROUD.

PS don't forget the Cookie Cafe

So, lots of good info, but I am still unclear. One more time;

Does one (1) D get you placed on Academic Alert?

Thanks everyone

Under "normal circumstances, I would offer the AF 2nd LT the privilege of mowing my yard:shake:......Hey even I every once in a while like to see the AF breaking a sweat someplace besides a gym:yllol:....

Come on now, that's not fair.

Sometimes the carts have to stay on the path and they may have to carry their clubs to the middle of the fairway before they hit.

tpg, I think he's enjoyed the lazy train 'bout long enough. He has 7 more days to get that hair cut & pack up his golf clubs.

Honestly, I think he's turned out pretty amazing actually. I hate it that he's smarter than I am though..... That kinda bugs me. And these Navy seal work-outs he talks me into are killing me. I almost called 911 the other day. He thinks I'm his fracking running buddy then leaves me in his dirt so he can gloat. I'll be happy to see him back with his "own" kind. And he won't let me open up his sealed secret squirrel document folders that say "Do not tamper with." I only want to see if I'm mentioned in there. When he leaves, so shall 90% of my entertainment.

I Like Ribbing The Flayboys Too But Back On Topic...

2013 Mids and Parents, Is2day4him's words ring very very true

.

unfortunately those involved with the class of 2013 will become all too familiar with the attrition rate at this school.

the class of 2010 started with 270ish people. i believe we're now down to around 150-160 original members of the class. it comes quickly and mercilessly. ... Just don't give up and most importantly, GET HELP!!!

i've talked with several plebes that are scared to ask upperclassmen for help. Talk to your kids about this! NO ONE WANTS TO SEE YOUR KIDS FAIL. I get a ton of help from other mids and have since plebe year. We're all in this together and we all had to take calc and physics. we will do whatever we can to help your kids. If it's something that we can't help you with, we'll point you to someone who can.

Encourage the plebes to ask questions and get help from upperclassmen. Trying to be tough and work through your own problems quietly won't get you through this place. Biggest step towards maturity to be learned here: know when you don't know something and don't be too proud to ask for help.

Best of Luck

Thiry one years and four months ago aka "back in the day" on the second day of indoctrination for the Class of 1982, while we numbered just over 305, I forget which Regimental Midshipman Officer had us out on Tomb Field, it was probably Arturo Diaz, the first rotation RTO for the Class of 1979 if had to guess though, who had us all in formation - the enitre Class of 1982 and said: "Class of 1982! Look to your right! Now look to your left! - Four years from now when you do that, AT LEAST one of the people you just looked at won't be there if you are. You need to make up your mind to work to be here, if you can help your classmates then do so, if you need help ask them." Then he turned us over to the "Pushers" what we called the DI's "back in the day" for Day Two of indoc. He was of course totaly right, we graduated a Class of 157 if my recollection is correct. Things really haven't and IMO shouldn't change - to those who much is given, of whom much of which is expected.
The primary reason for this attrition was and is Academics by far. I always say: "If you take care of your Academics, your regimental duties and your extra curricular activites will usually take care of themselves." It's the key to prioritization and successful time management for current midshipmen. Also clearly everyone needs a little help from a shipmate now and then, if you ask for it you'll indeed get it.
