We plan on visiting our DS who is stationed in Hawaii October 2022 does anyone know if there is temporary housing for visiting military families on Oahu? TIA.
If you are a military family with appropriate ID, check out the AFRC hotel Hale Koa, at least for a few days, right on Waikiki Beach adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Better yet, if your DS makes the reservation, his active duty status lets him book earlier and at a rate pegged to his rank. I love that place. Check out the website to see how it works.

There are also MWR beach cabins with kitchens at various locations on Oahu and other islands. Basic, right on the beach but a lot of fun. This was my favorite:

There are the military-inn type of accommodations, such as the Navy Lodge:
Same rules about how early room rez can be made. AD always has earlier booking window.
I have hazy recollections but would think the big AF (though Hickam and Pearl are joint now) Army and Marine bases have similar 3-star hotel type facilities.
As far as whether individual bases have “visiting quarters” (Navy term) or other accommodations, I will leave that to others.
Do book the Hale Koa for a few days of tropical beachside indulgence and Mai Tais poolside looking out at the surf.
