Hey guys!
I'm currently a senior in high school and I am in the middle of the application process for USNA and USMA. I've been kind of concerned about the minimum weight requirement - I noticed on here that for a 5'2 female, the minimum is 104 lbs. However, I am about 10 pounds under this weight.
I am of East Asian descent and have a naturally small frame and high metabolism. I've tried gaining weight before by eating lots of protein and carbs, but I have never broken 100 lbs. Despite my low BMI, I feel great and have lots of energy, and I easily passed the CFA when I took it at NASS this summer, and had no trouble keeping up with my company/squad mates during physical training.
So, my question is, will my low weight jeopardize my chances of admission into the Naval Academy? If so, what is the medical waiver process and what sort of things do they check for to determine if you are fit even if you don't comply with their weight standards? Thanks so much in advance!
