Missing Special Forces Soldier found after 43 yrs

I'm glad to hear that they recovered his remains.

Lang Vei was quite a battle. They called it the "Night of the Silver Stars" for the heroism displayed by the Special Forces soldiers there (one even earned the Medal of Honor). I've met Col. Longgrear, and am very happy for him, as another of his men has been returned home.

RIP

This underscores an important point about being an American fighting man: your nation and your military will NEVER stop looking for you until you are returned home. As we sit here now, dedicated Americans from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command are searching the globe to bring American servicemembers back to their families.

If you note the pallbearers, they are aviation officers from the Fort Rucker Casualty Command. If you branch aviation and are on hold at Rucker, you may have the honor of participating in funeral details for some great Americans who have passed on.

DOL.

Third pallbearer on the right is a buddy of mine. He said it was one of the greatest honors of his life.
