I received a nomination from my local congressman (I'm in Oregon). I have seen some people talk about a principal nomination vs. an alternate. On the letter from my congressman, it has no mention of any of this. It basically says congratulations and that he chose to nominate me for the 2 SA's that I requested in my application. How do I know what kind of nomination I received (principal vs. alternate)? I'm just trying to figure out my chances for a USMA or USNA appointment. Thanks.

Call or email and ask for clarification. They will tell you.
