Sadly, I recieved that dreadful letter in the mail today - "I regret to inform you that we will not be able to offer you a place in the entering class for the USMA this year." So my question is- and I believe I already know the answer- Is this the nail in the coffin? Or do I still have some snowball's chance in h*** to still be admitted into the class as a fill in? (I know it depends on the list ranking- I'm somewhere close- with in the next 150 outside the 1285)
I believe that I don't really have a chance at all especially because this year- kids are not declining offers to USMA like they were last year (usually 100+ decline- this year its down a lot)
However, I am definately going to apply next year to the class of 2014 and this is where my other questions come in.
What is the re-application process like?
What do I have to do again/not do again?
Do they keep my file and just move it along into the next applying class section?
Anyway, I'm disappointed for this year, but I am going to a great college in the fall and to one of the best ROTC battalions out there with a full scholarship. As I have stated previously- I'm applying again for the class of 2014 and hopefully everything will turn out great! But, for all those kids out there who also didn't get in this year- I say don't give up!! If you really want it and you keep trying, then you are bound to get in!
Goodluck future class of 2013! Atleast I get a summer break now !!
