I'm aware that the official candidate application for USNA opens in April, but I was wondering if the info you filled out for summer seminar carries over? Do I need to re fill it out or how does it work?

It's my understanding that the NASS application acts as a preliminary application. If you are a competitive candidate you build from there.

Yes the Summer Seminar stuff carries over, but realistically, it is only a small bit of what you fill out. Most of it is just your address and such.

Oh so once you fill it out and the Actual candidate application opens there are more to fill out? By fill out I'm referring to if you have to go more in depth about your ECs, others etc. Not things like CFA and interviews.

The NASS application (which later becomes the Preliminary Application after NASS apps are closed) serves as an important "screener" that allows Admissions to determine whether an applicant qualifies to become a Candidate. If so, the applicant is granted a Candidate number and credentials for logging into the Candidate Information System. Once logged in, the Candidate begins an in-depth battery of questions including academics, athletics, ECAs, Math and English teacher evaluations, and a Personal Statement. The NASS/Prelim App also serves as a trigger for BGOs to make initial contact to schedule an interview or consult and consul an applicant to improve their test scores in order to hopefully receive a candidate number and move forward in the app process. I hope this helps!
