My DS is currently attending Session III. I have a lot of questions regarding his daily schedule. Can anyone that had a DS or DD attend Sessions I or II give some insight on schedules?

A family member attended Session 1. What do you want to know?

Also, this isn't Plebe Summer. They are allowed to call home.

We found that she called the second day (Sunday) and never called again b/c she was so busy and having such a great time. Seriously.

I went to Session 1, the schedule is pretty filled (there will be some time to text/call home though). I never found myself bored or without something to do, in the little free time we had I was usually playing cards with squad mates or writing out thoughts of the day. What do you specifically want to know?

I don't know if they all do it at the same time, but my DD texted this morning that she would be doing it this afternoon. According to her, the schedule for the day was PT, formation, breakfast, church, lunch, CFA

Yeah, the PT today is just stretching and a light warm-up and then they have a lot of downtime until after lunch, when the CFA is administered, company by company, until around four when they have a brief. Then starting tomorrow their schedules are jam packed from 5:30AM to around 10PM until Thursday! Don't worry, the detailers are all really nice and are going to ensure that your child is having a blast! (I just went to Session 2)

My son last year was at the Coast Guard summer session and they took their phone on day 1 and did not get it back until they left! It was not a college visit. I asked him how he liked the campus and he said he did not see much of it because his eyes were "in the boat" He told me a couple of kids quit summer session on the 2nd day! He liked it and it made his decision to attend an academy easy.

Don't panic about the CFA. If you do really well, you're done. If for any reason you're not satisfied with your scores and/or you fail, you can retake the CFA later in the year.

My DS just completed the CFA and his Candidate Admissions form has been updated online by the Academy. Does that mean he has satisfactorily completed the CFA?

    BB distance - 68'
    Pushups - 75 (maxed)
    Shuttle - 8.1
    Situps - 60
    Pullups - 7
    Mile - 6.25

I have heard that the CGA summer program is VERY different than NASS. The CGA program is a much stronger taste if military life as a plebe/swab than is NASS. Maybe someone that has been to both can comment. My son is at NASS now and will be at the CGA in July.

    AIM and USNAA

We heard exactly the same. BGO said that NASS is a CAMP. He is STRONGLY encouraging our D to go back for a candidate's visit weekend and his opinion is that for someone like her, who has no family background in the military, NASS is a nice 'visit' but can't touch on USNA life. The visit weekend will give a more realistic glimpse...still only a glimpse, but a more realistic one. He then does a mini seminar for the kids on USNA life so that the remember this is not going to college, but joining the military. He is very encouraging, but wants them to be realistic.

Also, he too said AIM is said to be physically and emotionally much more true to form of what they will face and can be a terribly grueling (and rewarding) week. They tend to have lots drop out each year (of the summer AIM week!). The USCGA threads speak of this. Ours had to turn down AIM because of a conflict. It will be great for your son to go to both. Several our D met did SLE, then NASS, now USAFA ss and then AIM is scheduled for July.

Looks like he passed, although he might want to see about raising pullups. Everything else looks pretty solid.

    CFA

Son received an email last night stating that he passed the CFA. Results were not given although I would like to know. He hasn't called or sent any texts. I guess that's a good thing.
