How does the team tryout system work and do you have to wait until after BCT to tryout for the women's track & field team as an entering 4th class sprinter?

You might want to contact the coach now. Here is a link to a questionnaire which includes an e-mail link to the appropriate coach.

You will be told the procedures for tryouts during BCT. Best wishes. :thumb:

Thanks for the info, but I already have submitted the questionnaire and emailed the head coach twice with no response from him.

What's next? My times are very competitive with the existing team. I just want a chance to try out.

How about emailing the assistant coach for sprints? The Head Coach might not talk to a lot of people often (that was the case with my friend last year, he ended up being the best Freshman Distance runner).

What ARE your times? I have a DD in 9th grade who is showing sprinting promise.

SuaSponte provides good advice here. My son was recruited last year. He's a miler and distance guy and dealt mainly with the distance coach. His only interaction with the head coach was during the recruiting visit and that remains the same today.
