HELP! I'm a little late to this post. But I have to ask did you all figure out this GOARMYED issue. We went to ROTC Orientation on Friday and they basically told they group that they have no idea what they are doing and that the students receiving ROTC scholarships may not get paid until November (but don't be alarmed) of course I am alarmed. What is the process that the Cadre needs to do in order for this scholarship to happen? I am very proactive, I will call them and tell them what steps they need to take. When my daughter called goarmyed they told her that the cadre needs to do something before they can see the scholarship.
I can't say I'm familiar with GOARMYED, but I will say, it's not your business at this point to "call them and tell them what steps they need to take". It's been a year and they have probably smoothed out some of the wrinkles. Those that are still there are for your DD to iron out, not you. She is going into an officer development program, where they are going to develop her into a leader, a self-confident individual who speaks up and advocates for herself. Let that process happen. Support her and guide her, but do it from the background. She has already gotten this far on her own merit, let her develop into an adult.
