So who else has spent way too much time looking through Webguy's photos the last two days? I'm going to be at a loss once they lose their cowbells and I can't identify the squadron by color. :) On a somewhat related note, does anyone know what the colored dots on the name tags are for?

For 2019, the colored dots denoted basics who had brought a pair of their own boots. I am guessing it is the same this year.

Same here! Such excitement when you actually see a photo of your DD/DS! Hoping they have photos of Friday's swearing in posted soon. We had to leave Thursday night so we missed it.

Thanks Wildblueyonder! GoFalcons, there are swearing in pictures posted. It's under the BCT-1 hyperlink on the left hand side of the page. The actual swearing in photos start on page 13.

We arrived home last night after an 11 hour drive and the first thing DH does is search Webguy for a glimpse of DD until midnight! AND, we found a few :yikes:

Regarding the dots on the name tags and blue belts:

Q: Why are some Cadets wearing a Blue belt?
A: This means there is a slight injury or sickness and the Basic is on light physical activities but is still in the training program.

Also, the belts are reflective and worn while exercising in pre-dawns or late evenings.

Q: What are the colored circle dots on badges?
A: This was used during In-Processing Day to annotate whether an appointee needed something...(like Immunizations etc...). Some basics didn't take them off at the end of the day.

Thanks, I saw the group of basics with blue belts at the back of the squadrons and was wondering the same thing (BCT-1, pg109, pic30). One basic was even in crutches already.

I just saw that the colored dots were used on I-Day to indicate whether the appointee needed something (I.e. Immunizations, etc). Some basics simply did not remove them. This came from the Parent Liason.
