New Jersey Noms?

Congratulations! Did he tell you if it was a principal or not? My son didn't ask because he was surprised by the call since he thought he'd hear back in January. Where are you from in NJ? We are from Ringoes.
 
Ah I live in Plainsboro. I know a few friends that live around there.

But the Representative said to me that he didn't give principals. He just submits the ten names.
 
From my interview with my field force officer, he told me that Representative Holt uses competitive nominations. No principle nom. Just puts 10 names down for each slot and gives it to the academy to "rack 'em and stack 'em". I believe our Senators also use competitive nominations.
 
Spoke with Representative Holt today. He informed me that he would be willing to nominate me to both USMA and USAFA. Made my day :biggrin:
 
Way to go! Does the Senators look at who the Rep. nominate and do the same or go with their own picks?
 
I have heard that the New Jersey Senators do not notify you until about January 30-February 4, unfortunately. I'm from NJ-05 (Scott Garrett) and I haven't heard anything.
At least we can be thankful that we are applying this year. I hear that due to the census, NJ may lose a seat in the House of Representatives, meaning less senators to give nominations from NJ!
Is anyone from NJ-05? KMC, I also had my Congressional interview on 12/4, are you in NJ-05 as well?

DS just received the phone call and nomination to USNA 2015, Holt D-12 (Plainsboro). :yllol:

Still no news from Menendez or Lautenberg out there??? :confused:
 
Been waiting for a long time, just got a call yesterday telling me I got the Nomination from Congressman Holt's Office (NJ-12), but apparently I never got the phone call from the Congressman! He's supposed to call this evening so I can officially accept it. I love this feeling :biggrin:

Congratulations on the nom and USMA beat navy! Congratulations on the nom for USNA cpdibari!

I've heard that Senator Lautenberg and Senator Menendez usually wait until late January to announce their nominations, so it could be a while before any word comes from them.

I've got USMC ROTC to Embry Riddle if USNA doesn't work out.
 
If my SA plans fall through, I'm falling back on ROTC at Rutgers, VMI, or VT. I've been accepted to Rutgers and VMI already, but I haven't heard back from VT and the Army ROTC scholarship yet. :frown: I'm leaning towards VT or VMI over Rutgers though.
 
Rep. Rush Holt just called again byt DS is at work and missed the call. MR. Holt said to call anytime. Why is he calling back? Hopefully its good news because he already called New Years Eve with a Nomination to AFA. Well DS called from work just now and left a message for him. The waiting is killing me.... I hope work lets him keep his phone on him!
 
A second call from the same MOC? I hope that the news is even better than last time. Wow, I don't envy you the wait though. Let us know.

To answer the question why Rep. Holt called my DS again was to offer him another nomination but this time to West Point.....Still haven't gotten in. He is retaking his SAT's. USMA and AFA want his verbal up a bit more...GRRRRR Had us scared for a while last night before he found our why he called again...
