Hello. My son is a junior in high school in Atlanta. He's primarily interested in USNA and NROTC. Thanks for all the advice. It's also good to share the anxiety/misery.

Welcome aboard and I wish your DS luck! :thumb: Navy or Marines?

Navy, but he wants to fly (don't they all). So, Marine flight would be okay too.

So on his NROTC app it seems he chose Navy?

Yes, you're right; they all seem to want to fly. My DS certainly did but changed his mind freshman year and now hopes for infantry and eventually MARSOC. So if it's not flying they all seem to want to be "special".

Again, good luck to your DS... and enjoy the ride as a parent!

And my DS never considered flying until he had his eye surgery. Infantry and intelligence also top of his list. I do believe the Marines are going to put more energy and money into their cyber warfare field. I'm hoping my son goes that direction because he's getting his degree in cyber security.

It is great that the students have time to change their minds and figure things out.

    Welcome to the forums.
