Settling in to the new normal. After a year plus of dotting i's and crossing t's, researching and thinking about to-do lists and finally crossing tasks off of said list, now what? We have Parents Weekend to to look forward to. Yay! The excitement of preparing for Indoc was intense. What an emotional time it has been. Stalking for photos from Indoc all day long become a compulsion. Finally those precious few minutes phone calls. And now emails, checking, checking. Last Sunday I got to talk to DS for 30 minutes, his GF must have been unavailable, lol. The new normal is here. I no longer can be part of every step along the way. At least not in the way of the last year. This is great news yet it is a transition to remember how to fill my day without it revolving around getting kiddo to KP.
Last night I started re-reading the SAF posts from last year at this time. What were the parents going through then? How does my experience differ? What stumbling blocks may be on the horizon that we can avoid by being knowledgeable? Many of the class of 2015 parents are on a Facebook page and sharing but I miss the deeper pool of council and experience. Have the old timers on this forum wondered where the heck the newbie parents are? Why aren't we here needing our hands held? Lol. Or does this happen every year. Sorry to spoil the fun of being able to look back and say "whew, I remember that".
