No CFA at SS?

I read that USAFA didn't allow students a chance to complete their CFA at last years' SS. Is that the case this year?

Don't know the current details, but I can report that when DD attended USAFA SS several years ago, the fitness sessions led to a bit of barfing into trash cans. DD said the sessions weren't very strenuous. It was simply the effects of high elevation (7000 feet!). DD is a high-elevation kid, so it didn't bother her at all. But this anecdote gives reason to not doing CFA at SS -- results surely would suffer for most.

In the 'recent past, none of my AFASS students have run the CFA. As @MidCakePa noted, the 'air is rare' at 7258 feet so it is simply unfair to most students who attend the seminar.

@Academician, you passed up a great opportunity! 😉 So let me step in:

"The air is rare, so it wouldn't be fair, but don't despair, as it will save some wear and tear." 🤣

Not the answer you asked for but for others....My daughter went to both Usafa ss and nass.
She only took the cfa at nass.

USMMA, USAFA and USNA all accepted her 1 nass score. ( Took several emails and calls to all 3 SAs to get the score applied correctly.... But she received 2 appointments.)

Yes, @momofnavygirl makes a great point. Many students, including mine, use SLE or NASS CFA scores with the other service academies. As noted, you will have to coordinate with the admissions team at each school and request that your CFA results be sent from the source SA to the correct destination's Admissions email address.

DS completed his CFA at USMA SLE last year and transferred results to USAFA easily - coordinated via email I think. USAFA SS is pretty short so he was glad they didn't do the CFA so they could do other briefings and activities with their time. On a side note, there were a number of locally organized CFA events happening in the fall that he was invited to so the kids can look for those too.

Even if the CFA were offered at USAFA, you would be wise to do it at or near sea level! The altitude at USAFA is brutal.7,258 Sign.jpg7,258 Sign.jpg
