DS have been getting a slew of emails from Army recruiters saying that he wasn't selected for West Point and to join the army. So being the mom I am I called one of them and asked how they got his number and email. They said it was from West Point. My question is why hasn't his portal changed? Why didn't he get a TWE from West Point instead of hearing about it from a recruiter? Not very happy on how this is going down for him. If he gets the TWE then he did his best but to hear about it from someone who is pushing him to enlist is just wrong. Anyone else getting these calls and emails?

Please, call his admissions officer and ask them what is up...it could all be a misunderstanding.

I called my son at school and he just called the school and left a message.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. I just got three emails today within two hours of each other from recruiters asking me to contact them about becoming an officer. One of them mentioned that I was denied "this time around" during the selection process at West Point. My heart sunk a little, but I'm still holding on until I get a TWE or further notice from USMA directly. Hope it works out for your son!

We just got an email back from DS liason person for West Point. Recruters have no way of seeing a persons file for West Point. While they say DS is qualified he is over qualified for Pre School and may not be on the list high enough for the acadmey he said that his best bet might be for the Private military school and be sponcord by West Point. Oh well. So close.... He said to ignore the emails from the recruters.

If they don't have access to WP info, I wonder how the recruiters knew that these kids applied to USMA?? Kind of disturbing.........

I know this is silly, but what does TWE stand for? I know it means the rejection letter. Knowing that BFE stands for Big Fat Envelope, I can only guess at what TWE stands for...Tiny Wittle Envelope, The Wahh Envelope, The Wish Eliminator, Terrible Westpoint Exclusion..to name a few that came to mind.

I've also gotten a call from a recruiter but that was a while ago and they did not mention being turned down from West Point as a reason for calling. In fact, they didn't even know I was applying. I'm still waiting for the BFE (crossing fingers). Good luck to all of you as well!

Thin White Envelope.

I think I've only been contacted by an army recruiter once, but I had signed my name at my high school college fair. I seem to get a ton of navy ads though, haha.

Ahh, seems a bit bland for all the doom it brings haha. The least they could do is make light of what they call it ;)

in 2007, we had an army recruiter sit in our house and tell my son that he had not been accepted into West Point and that considering the date, he should really consider enlisiting (with all the recruiting promises of becoming an officer) We politely declined but told him that we would keep him in mind. two days later my son recieved an offer of an AOG foundation scholarship and right now he is a cow at West Point. I can't believe that he will be a firstie in a few short months.
