Nomination status in portal

Hoping someone may be able to provide some feedback about the Nominations status area in the USNA portal for DS.

Under the Nominations section it lists Source and Date Received. Data shows our Congressional District as the source and then date received as last week. There has been no communication from the MOC yet indicating a nomination was given. Just wondering if this is showing up because DS is part of a slate and therefore a number of other candidates are currently seeing this same data as well in their portal, or does this data only fill in when the nomination has been officially applied to his application?

I believe it's when USNA received word from your MOC that your DS received a nomination. Remember, not all MOCs provide notice or "timely" notice to the applicants. My DS had the same MOC nomination information show up in his portals for USNA, USMA, and USAFA last week, but has not received a call from MOC's office (yet).

My daughter’s nomination showed up in the portal a couple of days before she received an email with the official letter of notification from our MOC.

My DS received has a nomination showing from our district at 3 SA's. He received a call from the staffer at the MOC's office, stating that he will be receiving an official letter from the MOC in the mail. But when they showed up, it was at least 2 days before she called him.

Congrats! You got the nom! Not all MOC have time to call. We got an email from the Staffer stating my DD got the nom. (She already had an LOA so within the week, she received another email from the staffer with an attached email from the USNA stating my DD would see the Appointment in the portal on Dec 1 and if the MOC wanted to call, he needed to do so before Dec 2. My DD recieved a call from our congressman on Nov 30th congratulating her on her appointment and the appointment showed up 12/1. Not all MOC's reach out, email or call. Our MOC interviewed 53 kids!
He is retired military and LOVES this part of his job.

These responses all sound encouraging. Thank you. I very much get that MOC probably has a few other things on their plate and DS is not upset by any stretch that he wasn't contacted yet. The interviews for this MOC weren't even supposed to happen until "early December" so seeing it show up on the portal before he even got the invitation to interview was a surprise. Had read of an instance or two of Nomination status being there one day and then gone another, so thought was he may just be on a slate with other applicants from the district and this may not be final. However, it sounds promising and we appreciate the insight from others with more experience.

Now just waiting for medical to clear (exam was last week), and BGO interview next week to complete all the checks on the application.

Generally when this has happened, the nom itself has not been pulled, it is just not visible on the portal for some reason. The Nomination itself is generally still there!
