My nomination source didn’t notify me about my nomination at all, so I’m not sure which of my representatives nominated me. I found out on my portal.

Is it appropriate to talk to my BGO about it? Will he know? I would like to send them a thank you note.

Thanks for any help (especially since this is my second thread today)...

Be patient and wait until after the holidays. Sometimes they will mail a letter and the portal gets updated faster than a snail mail congrats. Might still be in the works and then you will know.

If it is a Senator, it will read "Congress/Senator1" or "Congress/Senator2".

It is impossible to ascertain which one is #1 and which one is #2 in your State. You would think it would be #1 is "Senior" and #2 is "Junior", but that is not always the case.

If it is your Representative, it will read "Congress/Representative" and your District number will be filled in.

EXAMPLE (above) means two (2) nominations. One is from one of the Senators of Maryland, and one from the Representative from the 5th District.

DD found out who she was charged to until after graduation when she got a presentation flag flown over the Capitol on the date of her graduation from the Senators office. You never know.

Agree with THParent. Also the #2 after the Senator means the Jr. Senator of the state.

You know, I used to think it meant that too.

Apparently however, there exists some sort of "Senator Numbering System" that has nothing to do with seniority. I am certain of this, because my DS was nominated by "Senator2" in our state, and that Senator was the Senior Senator in our state. I have read about other candidates who have had the same experience. I think it has nothing at all to do with how long they have been in office. There is some other voodoo at work here.

Wow...that is good gouge, Marine! I'm surprised because I was advised of the Junior/senior number by a BGO.

Yeah, well it makes perfect sense.
One would (of course) aspire to be "Senator 1", whatever that means. Maybe it just means you're not number 2. ;)

My son received a letter fr0m our then-Congresswoman the same day he received his acceptance package.

The next day he broke his collarbone while snowboarding.

My DS just went through the same escenario. He was notified by his RC from USMA that he had received a nomination from his senator and with that he had completed the requirements for his LOA.
He found out the nomination was from FL61 through his portal, we assumed it was from our Senior Senator Bill Nelson; a week letter he received the official letter in the mail from Senator Marco Rubio who is the Junior Senator that he had nominated DS to West Point.
DS’s portal in USAFA states District number and district representative full name.
