November NROTC board results known?

Alumdad- do you know when they are supposed to be sent out? And received?

No, just that they were getting to that point. I actually wasn't under the impression from what was said to me that notifications had already gone out. I guess in this case, no news is good news -- at least as good as we've come to expect.

And I just heard there was no more out of state scholarships... There's no schools in Delaware with it...

It appears by the boards the Army side announced a set of scholarships -- when is the NROTC side? Anyone? Anyone?

Still waiting in NJ! DS's status changed for AROTC yesterday for the good but don't know which school or for how many years. Have heard nothing on NROTC.... very nervous.....

My DD just had a status change within last few hours, was not selected will receive letter with other options. congrats to all who were awarded a scholarship!

My status hasn't changed at all since last July. I've already prepared myself for student loans.

Is that only referring to the Marine-option NROTC?

Need some advice

My DS received his NROTC Tier 1 4 yr scholarship and was appointed to the unit at Michigan in December. He is still waiting to hear whether he has been accepted to Michigan. He sent an email to the unit at Michigan yesterday asking for their help in determining his admissions status. He has also been accepted at UC Boulder and Iowa State...does anyone know the contact names at those University's in order for him to inquire as to the possibility of transferring his scholarship to either of those schools if space is available? And we are also waiting to hear if he will receive an appointment to USNA...
Thanks so much...and I will keep my fingers crossed for all who are awaiting their NROTC award!

I am in a similar situation with trying to get my scholarship transferred. The people to talk to about this is the folks in Pensacola. Send an Email to: pnsc_nrotc.placement@navy.mil
Just state what you want in the email and they will place you on the waitlist. They tell me that they won't start working transfers until beginning of April.

Good Luck

Thanks

Thanks eaglerok for the advise...am wondering though if it's a appropriate to contact the various units at the other universities where he has been accepted, as well as the folks in Pennsicola, just to get his name in front of those units? I've read that some candidates have had luck doing this and securing their transfers earlier than April? Or, must the final decision have to come from the head office? Too much to figure out and juggle!

Goodness, I can relate to everyone on this forum and feel as though all the DS and DD's are my very own...what a rollercoaster of emotions for all concerned. I think someone should write a "how to cope" manual!!!

Thanks again and can I ask where you were assigned and where you would like to end up!?

I emailed one of the units that I'm trying to get it transferred to and they said that they aren't the ones to talk to and that the people in Pensacola are the ones who I should be talking to. He did say that his unit (University of Kansas) hasn't reached quota the past couple of years so that helped my chances a little. It probably wouldn't hurt to get your name out there a little. Every time I talk to Pensacola they say that they will work transfers once all the boards are complete so I'm still playing the waiting game. I am currently assigned to the Ohio State University, but didn't get in there so I'm on the waitlist at Arizona State, University of Kansas, and Iowa State University. I'm hoping for one of those!

still no word from NROTC...Accepted to the U of Rochester yesterday, but won't be able to attend unless I got a scholarship. I thought I was pretty competitive, but I'm worried come May I'll be without a scholarship and forced to attend my in-state safety.

Does anyone know the latest date one could receive an NROTC scholarship? Is it April 1st? Or sometime in Mid April?

We should gets some results this week. Not sure how many more times the board will be meeting. They meet every couple of weeks but I think they're getting close to being finished.

I am so mentally exhausted waiting to hear something from NROTC!:rant2:
