I am currently an NROTC College Programmer.

For my USNA application, would it be appropriate to add the following clubs/activities/ volunteer events:

    NROTC Drill Team
    NROTC Semper Fi Club
Navy/ Marine Corps Birthday Ball Sword Detail
    NROTC Regatta volunteer
    NROTC Stadium Seating volunteer
NROTC Field Training Exercise at MCB Quantico
Run for Your Lives 5k volunteer

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post.

    Nick,

Based on your activities, you might want to emphasize (mention) the following:

    NROTC Drill Team
    NROTC Semper Fi Club
NROTC Field Training Exercise at MCB Quantico

These are activities in which you are participating on a re-occuring basis and are significant because of military skills/qualities. You might want to consider mentioning any leadership roles within these activities (if applicable) or your role within (such as what you do in Semper Fi or how much do you practice/perform on the drill team, etc. --- those kind of facts).

The "volunteer" events could probably be lumped together...saying that you have helped volunteer a combined XXX hours at the following events: X, Y, and Z. However, I believe these are of much less priority than the three above.

Additionally, when mentioning activities, where possible try to QUANTIFY what you have accomplished -- I have performed at XX drill competitions, presented colors at XX events, have pariticpated in XX FEXs, etc; QUANTIFYING helps to paint your portrait (and show your commitment) to the Admissions Board.

    Hope this helps.
