NROTC application question... when do I get in?

So are you hoping to gain entry into "one of your schools" with the help of an NROTC scholarship or do you want to be a Naval Officer? Tone is always hard on the internet but I get the feeling you are looking for a way to pay for one of your reach schools instead of looking for the best fit for your future as an Ensign.

I wish you all the best and congrats on your SAT, that is outstanding.

Haha, I can see why you are getting that tone.

So yes, I want to be an officer- it's been my dream since I was a child. That being said, I want to have a fantastic education on the side.

I have the feeling that this post is getting way too intense, and too much attention. Thanks for your responses everybody, I probably won't reply to any posts from here on in.

If you want to talk to me about something please shoot me a PM! Otherwise thanks for all the advice.

Is it possible to receive your offer before ED deadlines? What about regular decision? So that your application gets marked as an NROTC applicant for the admissions to see?

Why I'm asking this, is I'm applying to some really selective schools and I think that NROTC would be a huge boost for me to get in.

Any personal experience?

Personal experience, both DDs were awarded NROTC scholarships in mid-October. Both included that fact in their admissions application under additional information/essays, and received admission to their first choice school. Neither applied ED or to Ivies, so no experience there.

Coolcats,

this is meant with the utmost kindnesss.

this thread is nowhere near the word intense. This is mild. You are going to interview for the scholarship and some PMSs will ask very thought provoking questions....what is being posted here on this thread would not fall into that category.

Navymom asked what I would consider the typical question out of the gate.

Ok final note; that's not what I meant by intense. That question was absolutely understandable, I just meant that it's a lot of work having to come back and reply to the crowd of people starting to gather around this threat lol, and with AP week coming up and what not I've got to eliminate diatractions

I appreciate all the advice though haha, the amount of good advice is overwhelming and I'm blessed to have received such a response
